Minister Han meets Bolivian Minister of Rural Development & Land Nemesia Achacollo

Minister Han Changfu met with the visiting Bolivian Minister of Rural Development & Land Nemesia Achacollo and her delegation in Beijing on September 5, 2013. The two sides exchanged views on further strengthening China-Bolivia agricultural cooperation.
Minister Han noted that China highly values its agricultural partnership with Bolivia. In light of current economic development and market demand, the two countries enjoy great potentials to build closer ties in agricultural sectors. The Chinese side is keen to make joint efforts with Bolivia to promote bilateral cooperation to a new height. To this regard, Han put forward a four-point proposal as follows: first, to maximize the facilitating role of China-Bolivia Agricultural Joint Committee and create opportunities for pragmatic bilateral cooperation;second, to intensify agricultural S&T communication and cooperation and enhance technological innovation capacity of both countries; third, to boost collaboration in capacity building and improve the agricultural labor competitiveness of both countries; and fourth, to step up cooperation in agricultural investment and trade to promote direct farm purchase and agricultural industry integration.
Minister Achacollo said that the Bolivian side is highly interested in conducting cooperation with China. "We are looking forward to learning China''s successful experience in agricultural development, establishing friendly relationships with Chinese academic institutes and businesses, and providing more support to agricultural trade advancement", she said. Minister Achacollo fully agreed with Han''s proposal, and underlined the wishes of Bolivia to launch joint programs with China in such areas as agricultural mechanization, personnel training, agri-trade & investment, and so on.
After the meeting, the two sides signed the Framework Agreement on Cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture of China and the Ministry of Rural Development & Land of Bolivia.
